The short answer
What is the best software for an auto detailing shop?
Auto detailing business software quotes packages with the real material cost inside them, books the bay and chases the follow-up without anyone remembering to. Service VIN does that from one login. It is not for a solo mobile detailer who only needs invoices, or a shop that wants marketing run for it rather than software.
- Quote a package or à la carte work with the margin costed from what the chemicals, pads and coatings actually cost you, not a guessed percentage.
- A branded storefront takes bookings and deposits around the clock, and the booking lands as a customer, a vehicle and a job rather than an email.
- Bays and detailers sit on one calendar, and an overlapping bay hold is refused in the database rather than hidden in the interface.
- Every vehicle keeps its own record — VIN, past jobs, coatings applied, warranty, before-and-after photos — so the next conversation starts informed.
- Flat pricing per shop — Essentials $79, Growth $199, Operations $299 and Command $399 in US dollars, no per-seat charge — with a 14-day free trial with every feature unlocked.
Bottom line: A detail shop's software should be able to answer which packages actually make money. If it cannot cost a job, it is a booking calendar with an invoice stapled to it.
If you run a general repair, tire or lube shop, the part of this that fits you is the front desk and the marketing layer beside the system you already have: see what Service VIN does for a repair shop.

Lead to booked job
Turn a midnight inquiry into a deposit-paid booking
Every call, text and web inquiry lands in one shared inbox, becomes a quote with the profit already worked out, and books itself onto the calendar with a deposit down — the front half of car detailing software that most shops still run on three different apps and a notebook.
- One inbox for every lead
- Calls, texts, web-form inquiries and booking requests land in a single shared inbox tied to the customer record — so the message from the guy who wants a full interior on Friday never gets buried in a group chat or a second phone.
- A quote with the margin built in
- Build the quote from your service menu and add-ons; each line is costed from your real material cost, so the profit margin updates live as you drop in a ceramic package or a two-stage paint correction. You know the job makes money before you send it.
- Booked 24/7, deposit already down
- A branded booking storefront takes appointments and deposits around the clock, so the 11pm shopper reserves a slot instead of texting the shop across town — and shows up, because the deposit is already paid.

Fixed location or mobile
One schedule for every bay — and every van
Drag jobs across bays and detailers on a calendar that can't double-book a stall, or run the whole day from your phone in a customer's driveway. Whether you turn cars in a shop or drive to them, it is the same online booking and the same set of numbers.
- A calendar the bays can't double-book
- Drag jobs across bays and detailers on one calendar, with bay protection enforced in the database. A three-hour ceramic coating and a quick maintenance wash can never be booked onto the same stall.
- The whole shop in your detailer's pocket
- The mobile app puts the day's schedule, the customer, the job checklist and the clock on your crew's phone — so a mobile detailing business runs the same in a client's driveway as a fixed studio does on the shop floor.
- A garage for every vehicle
- Scan the VIN to build the vehicle's garage, then keep its service history, coating warranties and before/after photos against it — handed back to the customer through secure, expiring links.

After the job
Collect the payment, then let AI ask for the review
The finished car becomes a paid invoice — not a chase — and a review request that goes out on its own, while a crew of AI agents keeps working the leads and cold quotes you are too heads-down to touch. Every module shares one customer and one set of numbers; see the whole connected system.
- Invoices paid, not chased
- Turn a finished job into an invoice and take the balance on card through Stripe or Square — often against a deposit you already collected at booking. QuickBooks and Xero stay in sync, so the books are done too.
- The five-star review, asked for on its own
- When a job is marked done, an automation texts the customer for a review at a sensible hour — drafted by the review-requester agent, with opt-outs and quiet hours enforced in code. You build a reputation without nagging anyone.
- Win back the ones who went cold
- Quote-follow-up and install-reminder agents chase the estimate that stalled, and a Campaign Runner drive rebooks the regular who hasn't been in since spring, while the AI calling copilot records the call and drafts the text or booking for one-tap send.

Built on a detailing shop's logic, not a generic CRM
Plenty of tools can hold a customer list. These are the four things a detailing shop needs that most of them can't do — the gaps I kept hitting in my own shop, so I built them.
Live margin on every quote
The quote is costed from your real material cost — the coating, the film, the pads — not a list price you typed in once. The margin is a fact before you hit send, the one number a growing detailing shop can't afford to guess.
An AI team, not one AI button
A calling copilot plus lead-response, quote-follow-up, missed-call and review agents — draft-first, with opt-outs and quiet hours enforced in code. The follow-up that used to wait for a spare minute now happens on time.
Built for detailing, not bolted on
VIN garages, ceramic and PPF packages, film tracked to the foot, coating warranties — the vocabulary of a detailing shop is native here, not forced into a generic field-service template.
Flat pricing, no per-seat charge
Add detailers, front-desk staff and a mobile crew without watching the bill climb — one flat plan for the whole shop. See the tiers on the pricing page.

Where to start
It starts with the call you missed.
Every missed call answered in seconds. The quote you promised, drafted before you hang up. Booked straight into your calendar.
It answers from your real services, your real prices and your real calendar — and writes the booking into them. No migration, no data to move — it runs beside whatever you use today.
A customer reading a text in her parked car, a shop owner at her laptop and at the shop's glass door, and the call, text-thread, quote, calendar and review panels drawn over the pictures.
Auto detailing software, answered
What is the best auto detailing software for a fixed-location shop?
The one that can tell you which packages make money. A detail shop sells bundles — a maintenance wash, a one-step correction, a coating package — and the margin on each one depends on what the chemicals, pads and coating actually cost. Service VIN puts that cost on the line, so the margin is live as you build the quote. Urable, QuoteIQ and DetailPro are all real options; the tables above say where each of them is stronger.
What should detailing scheduling software do about bays?
Treat a bay as a physical place with one car in it. A correction that needs eight hours and a maintenance wash that needs one cannot share a bay, and a calendar that only models a time slot will let a front-desk hire book both. Service VIN puts bays and detailers on one drag-and-drop calendar and refuses the overlapping hold in the database rather than hiding the option in the interface.
Is there a CRM for auto detailing shops that knows about vehicles?
That is the difference worth paying for. A detail shop's next conversation is about a specific car — what was corrected, which coating went on, whether the maintenance interval is due, whether the warranty still stands. Service VIN keeps the customer, every vehicle they own, every past job, the coating warranty, the photos and the whole text and call thread on one record, so nobody has to remember and nothing is re-keyed.
What does detailing invoicing software need beyond sending a bill?
It needs the real cost on the line and a way to be paid without a second app. Each product line carries what it cost you, so the invoice reports true COGS instead of a percentage somebody guessed; the deposit taken at booking is already credited; a card surcharge, if your shop charges one, lands on the bill rather than vanishing. The customer pays on a link they open on their phone.
Is there a cheap CRM for detailing shops?
Cheaper tools exist and one of them is in the table above — QuoteIQ publishes an entry tier well below our entry plan, for one seat. What Service VIN is cheap at is crew: Essentials $79, Growth $199, Operations $299 and Command $399 in US dollars flat with no per-seat charge, so the bill does not move when you hire. The smallest commitment here is the Operations plan at $299 a month, with nothing to migrate.
Can I get a detailing quote builder that prices packages and add-ons together?
Yes. A quote holds package tiers, à la carte work, add-ons like an engine bay or a pet-hair charge, per-line discounts and an order discount, all priced from real material cost. The customer approves it from their phone and can leave a deposit at the same time, which drops the job onto the calendar as a booked slot rather than a note to call them back.
Is there an AI booking agent for a detailing shop?
Yes — the AI Front Desk answers the calls nobody reached, texts back the ones that ring out, and books from your real calendar. It answers from your actual services and prices rather than a script, and it writes the booking into the system of record instead of promising a callback. Quiet hours and opt-outs are enforced in code, and every message it sends is on the customer's thread afterwards.
How does the software chase reviews and win back cold customers?
As automations you can read and edit, not a black box. A finished job asks for the review on its own; a customer who has not been back in a while gets a win-back message from the Campaign Runner; an open quote is chased on a schedule you set. The AI-written ones start draft-first so the shop's voice stays yours, and a message about a customer's own car is never held back by the marketing contact budget.
Can I import my customers from Urable or another tool?
Yes. There are native import presets for Urable, Tint Wiz and OrbisX, plus QuickBooks Online, Zoho Books and any CSV, covering customers, vehicles, invoice history, job history and open leads. Imported records are held apart from the live messaging rails, so bringing across a back catalogue cannot text somebody who has not heard from you in two years. Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial with every feature unlocked.
How much does auto detailing software cost?
Service VIN is flat monthly pricing with no per-seat charge — Essentials $79, Growth $199, Operations $299 and Command $399 in US dollars, two months free on annual billing, and unlimited team logins from Growth up. Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial with every feature unlocked. What the alternatives publish is in the tables above, each figure with its source and its date.
Who should not buy Service VIN for detailing?
A solo mobile detailer whose whole need is an invoice and a calendar will be happier with something smaller and cheaper. A shop that actually wants marketing run for it — ads managed, leads bought — is describing an agency relationship rather than software, and a platform that sells that bundle may fit better. And a shop whose crew will not use anything but paper should fix that first.
Does it handle GST/HST and CASL?
Tax: your shop sets one rate and every line on an invoice is taxable or exempt against it, so GST at 5 percent or HST at 13 or 15 is a setting rather than a workaround, and the sales-tax report gives your bookkeeper the taxable base, the exempt base and the tax actually charged on an accrual or a cash basis. What it does not do is split one invoice across two provincial rates, because there is a single shop-wide rate and no per-line rate in the data; if you bill at two rates, check that first. CASL is not a switch somebody flips but a set of rails: service and appointment messages are treated separately from marketing, marketing is counted against a per-customer limit, quiet hours and opt-outs are enforced in code, and an opt-out applies across the whole shop. The SMS policy page sets out the rules the product follows, and nothing here is legal advice.

Google Ads, graded by your invoices
Know what your detailing ads actually made you.
Google counts clicks and form fills. Your bank account counts paid details on the board. Service VIN connects your ad spend to your invoices — every campaign graded in booked jobs and paid revenue, with each paid invoice sent back to Google as that click's real value. And the account audit needs no add-on: connect read-only, get about two years of history imported, and see what's leaking before you change a thing.

For Canadian shops
Plans are billed in US dollars, and the rest of the block is the part a Canadian detail shop actually asks about. Tax is one rate for the whole shop, set once, so a 5 percent GST shop and a 13 percent HST shop each bill their own number and each line is taxable or exempt on its own. The sales-tax report then gives a bookkeeper the taxable base, the exempt base and the tax actually charged, on an accrual or a cash basis, and the same figures reach QuickBooks Online and Xero.
One rate is one rate. If you bill at two different provincial rates from the same shop, there is no per-province or per-line split here and that is a real reason to check before you move.
On the texting side, Canadian carriers require no 10DLC registration, so a Canadian shop sends from its own number as soon as the line is live rather than waiting on a US carrier review. Service and appointment messages are counted separately from marketing, marketing is held to a per-customer limit, quiet hours are enforced in code rather than in a setting somebody can forget, and an opt-out applies across the whole shop rather than to one thread.
The longer version, including what the invoice looks like and what the rails do about consent, is on shop software for Canadian shops, and the rules themselves are on the SMS opt-in policy page.
