One wrap shop's published price list, dated 22 March 2026 and updated 21 June 2026, read on 22 September 2026. It is quoted whole rather than blended with other guides so every cell can be checked against its source.

The film is not the bill
The same published list prices the material: calendered film at 3 to 6 dollars a square foot with a two to three year life, cast film at 7 to 12 with a five to seven year life, and premium or specialty cast film at 12 to 25 and up.
A mainstream car takes roughly 250 square feet of film. Put those together and a full wrap in good cast vinyl carries something like 1,750 to 3,000 dollars of material at retail, less at trade prices, against a job priced in the thousands. Everything else is labour: removing badges, handles, lights and trim, cleaning and prepping every panel, wrapping compound curves without creases, tucking edges, and reassembling the car.
That is also why a quote well under the ranges above deserves a question rather than a booking. Forum owners comparing quotes routinely report the same spread, and the cheap end is usually calendered film, fewer parts removed and edges cut on the panel rather than tucked behind it.
What changes the number
Four things, roughly in order of impact.
- Film type. Gloss and satin in a standard cast colour is the baseline. Chrome, colour-shift and textured films are harder to handle, less forgiving of a mistake and priced accordingly.
- Disassembly. A shop that removes handles, mirrors, lights and badges produces a wrap with no visible cut lines and charges for the hours. A shop that wraps around them does not.
- The car's shape. Deep creases, large bumpers and complex mirrors all add time, which is why the same film costs more on an SUV than on a sedan.
- Condition of the paint. Vinyl needs sound paint to stick to and to come off cleanly. Peeling clear coat or a previous respray is a conversation to have before the job, not during the removal.
Wrap, paint, or film
A wrap and a respray are not the same purchase. A wrap is reversible, protects the paint underneath while it is on, and comes in finishes paint cannot easily do. How much does it cost to wrap a car?
One shop's published 2026 list puts a full colour change at $2,500 to $4,000 on a sedan, $3,500 to $5,500 on an SUV and $4,000 to $6,000 on a truck. Premium and specialty films add roughly fifty percent.
Why is a chrome wrap so much more expensive?
Chrome and colour-shift films cost more per square foot, published at $12 to $25 and up against $7 to $12 for standard cast film, and they are far less forgiving to install. Mistakes cost a panel's worth of material.
How long does a wrap last?
The published film specifications put calendered vinyl at two to three years and cast vinyl at five to seven. Where the car is parked matters as much as the film: constant sun shortens every figure.
Will a wrap damage my paint?
On sound factory paint, a professionally fitted wrap normally comes off without damage and protects what is underneath while it is on. On resprayed or failing paint it can lift the clear coat, which is why a good shop inspects first.
